Reclutado por 58 millones de euros procedente del Everton, el delantero Richarlison (26 años, 35 partidos y 3 goles en todas las competiciones para la temporada 2022-2023) tuvo una primera temporada muy decepcionante en el Tottenham. Si bien se había quejado públicamente del trato a su exentrenador, Antonio Conte, el brasileño hizo su mea culpa.
«Cometí un error haciendo una entrevista diciendo que necesitaba tiempo de juego. Después me disculpé y dije que me podía castigar. Me regañó para demostrar que él era el comandante. Es su forma de lidiar con eso. Casi dos horas regañándome en frente a todos allí», concedió Auriverde al podcast Que Papinho.
